AI Trip Planner
Leveraging the success of ChatNT, I pioneered an AI Trip Planner for Tourism NT - a first for any tourism body.
Partnering with Insight and Microsoft, the trip planner would create utility for visitors
Northernterritory.com is a large website with extensive content, which can be challenging for consumers to navigate. This was evident in the site's low page depth and high bounce rate - both of which improved following the website refresh project.
To improve user-experience, encourage bookings, capture first-party data and send qualified and enriched leads to booking partners, I developed a program of work to build an AI Trip Planner.
However, despite it being only 6-months following ChatNT, AI had advanced significantly. I worked with Microsoft to ensure the Tourism NT Trip Planner was scoped using ChatGPT-4 Turbo, incorporating dedicated AI agents to accurately handle tourism-specific queries.
As a result, I guided the team to pivot from the traditional approach of building a static knowledge database to an AI-first design. This shift aimed to minimize hallucinations in the chat interface, accelerate learning, and improve response accuracy.
The project is still underway and once live, will be featured within the global versions of northernterritory.com, with support from a robust marketing plan.
